The chairman of the Liberal Party Mihai Ghimpu believes that there are hidden interests behind the defection of the three MPs from the Communist parliamentary group. He told the journalists that the three lawmakers remain faithful to the business interests, Info-Prim Neo reports. Mihai Ghimpu also said that he does not fear that the PLDM, PDM, the group of Socialists and the three lawmakers who left the Communist faction may now form a new parliamentary majority. “Only the components of the ruling alliance can produce changes inside it,” he stated. Liberal-Democrat MP Veaceslav Ionita welcomed the decision of the three MPs. “The lawmakers must work in Parliament for the people’s benefit. We always needed the opposition as it makes you verify your acts,” he said. Vadim Misin, Oleg Babenko and Tatiana Botnariuc defected from the Communist parliamentary group on June 7, arguing they are tired of the Communists’ boycott of the sittings of Parliament. They said they will remain in the opposition, but will have a constructive position.
