The municipal accounts, sequestered because of not paying up the debt to the Chisinau heat provider, will be unfrozen in a short time, Vlad Cotet, the interim mayor, states. He said, on Monday, February 16, at the staff meeting of the City Hall, he would negotiate a schedule of staged discharge of debts with the administration of SA Termocom today, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to Cotet, for this purpose, the Chisinau administration will make some compromises. “We must determine the period we commit to discharge the money,” he specified. Chief of Autosalubritate cleaning municipal enterprise Tudor Maniv threatened that, if the accounts are not unfrozen, he will halt delivering the thermal agent to Buiucanii Vechi district through those two pipes on the company’s territory. “We are self-managed and we do not have any debts to Termocom. We don’t even take heat from them. It's a non-sense to freeze our accounts,” Maniv stated. Interim mayor Vlad Cotet told media that “he doesn’t believe they would run to such a measure, because the heads of Autosalubritate have no access to the gates which provide this part of the city with thermal agent, though they run through the company’s territory. He said that at the end of last week, 10 million lei of the debt had been transferred. Thus, at present, the debt constitutes 115 million lei. The Chisinau administration has previously proposed Termocom to stage the payment of the debt, but the proposal was not accepted. The press service of SA Termocom stated for Info-Prim Neo that “the result of the negotiations would be made public later.” Now, the accounts of 41 city hall subdivisions are frozen, so that no financial operation can be made. Sequestering the accounts was applied in many stages, a part of them being unfrozen for while and others frozen again.
