The municipal services of Chisinau have intensified the inspection of trees in the capital city. Priority is given to playgrounds, courtyards of apartment blocks and parks. According to the municipality, due to bad weather or temperatures above +45 degrees Celsius, the trees dry out and their branches break and fall to the ground, IPN reports.
At the weekly meeting of officials of municipal services, mayor general Ion Ceban said that the municipality has promoted an extensive program to fell old trees and plant young and healthy trees instead of them. However, due to natural factors, the branches break. The mayor instructed the municipal services to intervene in all the districts of Chisinau.
Last Friday evening, a large branch collapsed in “Alunelul” Park of Chisinau. No one was hurt.
