Bronze medalist at the Beijing Games boxer Veaceslav Gojan won today his first match at the World Championship in Italy. The Moldovan boxer snatched a narrow victory in the 54kg category from Finnish Matti Koota, Info-Prim Neo reports. In the next round, Gojan will fight Chinese Gu Yu. Another Moldovan boxer, Victor Cotiujanschi (75 kg), is also due to step into the ring today. The Republic of Moldova is represented at this yearʾs world championship by other four athletes: Alexandru Rascan (51 kg), Vasile Belous (69 kg), Vladimir Cheles (81 kg) and Mihail Muntean (91 kg).
