A contingent of the National Army will take part in the multinational exercise “Sea Breeze 2018” that will take place at the training center “Shirokiy Lan” in the Ukrainian region Mykolaiv during July 9-21, IPN reports, quoting a press release of the Ministry of Defense.
According to National Army commander, brigade general Igor Cutie, the goal of the exercise that will involve 80 service members of the Motorized Infantry Brigade “Stefan cel Mare”, Peacekeeping Battalion No. 22 and of the General Staff is to increase the interoperability of the multinational troops in peacekeeping operations.
General Cutie said this year the National Army will take part in the drill with 15 military vehicles HMMWV. These will travel to Ukraine on July 7, alongside the Chisinau —Tudora — Starokozache – Shirokiy Lan route. Four Moldovan officers will work at the exercise’s General Staff HQ in Odessa city.
The exercise “Sea Breeze 2018” will involve service members from Bulgaria, the UK, Italy, Greece, Georgia, Denmarj, Estonia, Canada, Lithuania, Moldova, Norway, Romania, Poland, the United States, Turkey, Ukraine, and Sweden. This is a multinational Partnership for Peace maritime exercise.
The National Army has taken part in this exercise since 2007.
