The Ministry of Justice announced a national contest to fill the post of judge at the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR). The applicants must be citizens of the Republic of Moldova with the highest moral standing who meet the professional conditions for holding a high judicial post, jurists with recognized competence, IPN reports.
The candidates must have knowledge in the national legal system, international public law and be practicing jurists who are proficient in English or French, who can hold at least half of the eventual term of nine years, until turning 70.
The contest will take place in two stages: pre-selection of candidates who meet the contest conditions, based on the submitted applications, and an interview with the contest commission.
The candidates who want to take part in the contest must send the required documents to the email address secretariat@justice.gov.md until January 12, 2021, 5pm. The file in Romanian and French/English must be according to the model adopted by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe by Resolution No. 1646 (2009).
