The National Council for Economic Empowerment and Gender Equality was launched. It will work on the platform of the Economic Council under the Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova and is a platform for public-private dialogue, IPN reports.
Prime Minister Dorin Recean noted that the Government wants every woman in the country to have the opportunity and the necessary resources to develop her own business. “The newly created body – the National Council for Economic Empowerment and Gender Equality – will provide the necessary expertise for the Government to improve its policies and Moldova to become the friendliest country in the region for launching businesses,” stated the official.
The head of the executive referred to the achievements of recent years in terms of support for women and the promotion of gender equality. In particular, he mentioned the National Economic Development Strategy that promotes an inclusive economy, centered on equal opportunities. Also, the Government Program to Support Women’s Entrepreneurship was developed, with a budget of 30 million lei and an implementation period of three years, which will benefit at least 90 women entrepreneurs.
Premier Recean noted that the businesswomen have a decisive role in reforming the framework that regulates entrepreneurial activity and urged them to participate in this process. “I want to invite you to actively participate in our country project: to build European Moldova,” said the official.
