The Cabinet approved the decision to set up the National Council for Problems of War Veterans and its nominal composition and the regulations governing the Council’s work, IPN reports.
The Council will consist of persons who hold public posts and executive posts at ministries and the Government and representatives of ten public organizations working in the field. The Council will be chaired by Minister of the Interior Alexandru Jizdan. The Government’s Secretary General Lilia Palii and the General Staff chief Igor Cutie, National Army commander, will hold the posts of deputy head.
Alexandru Jizdan said the problems of veterans have been until now examined by the National Council for Problems of Participants in Armed Conflicts. He voiced hope that the activities will be more efficient under the National Council for Problems of War Veterans.
According to the regulations, the National Council for Problems of War Veterans is a consultative body created to coordinate social support measures and policies covering this category of people and their families.
