The national women’s handball team of Moldova ranked sixth in the Challenge Trophy tournament that took place in Bulgaria on March 22-25. The squad trained by Sergiu Krasnyi and Cristina Sirbu lost the game for the fifth place to Estonia by 28-24, Info-Prim Neo reports. Iana Soloviova scored seven goals for Femina Chisinau, being thus the top scorer of the team. In the qualifying round, Moldova ranked third after beating Armenia 26-16, but was defeated by Bulgaria 25-22 and Latvia 23-16. Bulgaria won the tournament after beating the Faroe Islands in the final 36-27. Israel won against Latvia 29-28 and finished third.
