On the National Reading Day, the National Bank of Moldova (NBM) puts into circulation a jubilee coin dedicated to the book. "It is an expression of our commitment to knowledge and progress, the foundation of a better future for every citizen," said NBM governor Anca Dragu, quoted in a press release of the institution.

The governor noted that "in a constantly changing world, reading remains the foundation of critical thinking and personal development."

The commemorative coin "Book Day" is minted in silver, has a face value of 50 lei and mintage of 600 units. This completes the "Others" series, IPN reports.

The coin is packaged in a transparent methacrylate capsule and in a presentation box, accompanied by a certificate of authenticity with a QR code that, when scanned, redirects to the website of the national bank with information about the characteristics of the currency.

Commemorative coins are sold to the general public both by the National Bank of Moldova, based on applications submitted online on the NBM website, in the "Currency" section, and through licensed banks operating in the Republic of Moldova.
