The candidacies of six ambassadors representing Moldova have been approved by the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Policy and European Integration. These are Anatolie Vangheli, to be appointed ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, Victoria Roșa - to Austria, Mihaela Mocanu - to Latvia, Eugen Caras - to Estonia, Gabriela Moraru - to the Czech Republic and Oleg Nica - to Italy.
Anatolie Vangheli is a career diplomat serving within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for 28 years. Previously, he was ambassador to the Hellenic Republic, Cyprus and the State of Israel, and prior to that he served as secretary general of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration in 2015-2017.
Victoria Roșa has over 15 years of experience in the NGO sector, providing consultancy to international organizations. She is currently a national consultant at UN Women Moldova.
Mihaela Mocanu has almost 20 years of experience in diplomacy and international relations. She is the ambassador of the Republic of Moldova in Austria. She previously worked in the diplomatic missions in Germany and Romania.
Eugen Caras has 30 years of diplomatic experience. He is currently head of department within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Previously, he was ambassador to the United States of America, ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to the European Union, he worked in the diplomatic missions in Turkey and Ukraine.
Gabriela Moraru is a career diplomat with 30 years of experience. She is head of department within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Earlier she headed the diplomatic mission of the Republic of Moldova in the State of Israel and served in the diplomatic missions in Poland, Estonia and Hungary.
Oleg Nica is a diplomat with 20 years of experience. He is currently the consul general of the Republic of Moldova in Milan.
According to the Law on the Diplomatic Service, the proposals regarding the appointment to the position of ambassador are submitted to the Government by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, with the consultation of the Foreign Policy and European Integration Commission of the Parliament.
