New anti-record: 632 cases of COVID-19

Moldova set a new anti-record for the number of new daily confirmed cases of COVID-19 on September 3 - 632. Twelve persons succumbed to COVID-19 today, tasking the death toll to 1,036, IPN reports.

Constantin Rymish, secretary of state at the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection, said that 2,736 tests were performed today and 233 of them were rerun tests. Six of the new cases were imported – two from Ukraine and by one from Russia, Ireland, Belgium, and Turkey. Of those confirmed with the infection, 38 are healthcare workers.

Moldova has got 38,372 infections with the novel coronavirus so far. As many as 10,319 cases remain active.

Currently, 537 patients with COVID-19 are in a serious state and 36 of them were put on a ventilator.

Secretary of state at the Ministry of the Interior Sergiu Golovaci said that 239 violations of the anti-epidemic measures were identified during August 26-31, primarily at trading units. The churches were also inspected last weekend and at least 13 violations committed by priests and parishioners were discovered there.
