New graders to be deployed in districts to maintain roads

By the end of November districts will each receive a grader and a multifunctional machine to maintain the roads. The machines equipped with air conditioning, heating, radio and GPS systems were purchased by the State Road Administration, Info-Prim Neo reports. The graders made jointly by the UK and Germany will be used in winter to clean snow from roads and spread anti-skid material and in other seasons to carry out maintenance works. “The period when the road workers cleaned the roads at night and repaired them during the day has come to an end,”Acting President and Head of Parliament Mihai Ghimpu said while handing over the ownership documents to officials of the district branches of the State Road Administration. “The roads can be maintained only with good machines. We did not have such machines during many years. I'm glad to see now Moldovan men driving Europeans vehicles,” Ghimpu stated. There will be distributed 31 graders and 43 multifunctional machines.
