New local elections for the position of mayor will take place in Antonesti commune of Cantemir district on November 17. A decision to this effect was approved by the Central Election Commission on Friday, IPN reports.
According to the CEC, elections will be held because the mayor of the locality was deprived of the right to occupy a public position, including the post of mayor, for a period of three years.
Also on November 17, new mayoral elections will be held in Causeni town of Causeni district, Iliciovca commune of Floresti district, Boșcana commune of Criuleni district and Arionesti commune of Donduseni district.
