Lidia Lupu is the 20th member of the parliamentary group of the Democratic Party. In the March 10 meeting of Parliament, the party’s president of honor Dumitru Diacov said that in accordance with Lidia Lupu’s application and with the legislation, this joined officially the Democratic MPs, IPN reports.
Lidia Lupu entered Parliament as a result of the November 2014 elections on the ticket of the Party of Socialists. Last summer, she filed an application, asking to be excluded from the Socialist parliamentary group. It happened after Lidia Lupu, as a local councilor, voted in favor of naming Ghenadie Buzu, of the Democratic Party, as head of Hancesti district.
In the parliamentary elections of 2014, the Democratic Party won 19 seats.
