A number of former members of the primary organizations of the Liberal Democracy Party (PLDM) in Anenii Noi district announced that they decided to join the Alternative Democratic Platform (PAD) as they want to provide real support to the people, Info-Prim Neo reports. A number of 63 persons stated their intention to join the Alternative Democratic Platform - 48 former members of the PLDM and 15 sympathizers of the PAD. “The main reason why we decided to join the Alternative Democratic Platform is the fact that the main principles of this political movement include the absence of electoral promises and the clear intention to offer the people real support,” said Viorel Cociug, former deputy head of the PLDM’s primary organization in Anenii Noi. The former Liberal-Democrats said they defected from the party because there is no transparency in the PLDM. “We, as members of the primary organizations of the PLDM in Anenii Noi, saw how the interests of a single group that tries to obtain political and economic advantages are imposed by nontransparent methods and by manipulation and authoritarianism. We do not want to be used to achieve such objectives,” said Viorel Cociug. On June 23, unaffiliated MP Mihai Godea, a former member of the PLDM, launched the Alternative Democratic Platform, saying the liberal democracy promoted by most of the parties in power turned out to be only a myth used only in election campaigns.
