A new party called the People’s Force emerged on Moldova’s political arena. It is headed by former Moldova’s Ambassador to the U.S. Nicolae Chirtoaca, who is a political analyst. After the constitution congress on April 21, the party’s leader told a news conference that the political doctrine of the People’s Force Party is Social-Liberal, IPN reports.

“We developed the idea that a new party is a very appropriate answer to the current challenges, including oligarchization and social instability. We do not see parties able to properly deal with these challenges and risks,” said Nicolae Chirtoaca.

According to him, the promotion of democratic reforms, strengthening of the Moldovan state, stabilization of the socioeconomic situation and continuation of the European integration process are the main objectives of the party.

Nicolae Chirtoaca said that the party’s program contains clear actions aimed at overcoming the difficult economic situation, liquidating all the schemes that fuel corruption, improving the social sphere, etc. “The party will become a real force,” he stated.

The party’s deputy chairmen are: lawyer Pavel Midrigan; chairman of the Union of Agricultural Producers Alexandru Slusari; former ombudsman Constantin Lazar, and university lecturer Constantin Ciorba.

According to the party’s administration, the party now has about 1,000 active members and 22 local organizations.
