The Government bans the production, use and marketing of persistent organic pollutants. The approved draft decision stipulates measures to minimize emissions of persistent organic pollutants in the air, water and soil, IPN reports.
"These substances can cause significant negative effects on human health and the environment, both near the sources of emissions and at considerable distances," said the Ministry of Environment.
The approved regulations also include measures for the correct management of waste containing or contaminated with persistent organic pollutants in order to prevent environmental contamination.
