A new sort of vine called Tudor, which was homologated by the Moldovan scientists several years ago, was approved by the state commission for testing sorts of plants and will be put up for sale. It is more resistant to low temperatures in winter and to certain diseases. The grapes are red-cherry in color. Contacted by Info-Prim Neo, academician Boris Gaina said the new sort is of a higher quality than the sort Moldova. “This sort of table grape is of a high quality and is resistant to cold and other weather conditions. Now that it was approved, any company can order it or multiply it in another country. The grapes Tudor are better transportable and keep better,” he stated. New wines with geographic names are to be launched this year.
