The chairman of the People’s Power Party Nicolae Chirtoaca said the list of candidates of the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM) was compiled with great compromises, while the Democratic Party (PDM) took a wrong decision when it put Marian Lupu and Vlad Plahotniuc in front of the list. The politician made such statements in a program on Realitatea TV channel, IPN reports.
According to Chirtoaca, Filat and Leanca reached a compromise as to the list for the parliamentary elections. “The PLDM’s list does not include a number of heavyweights and current MPs of the party. It is evident that the list contains Iurie Leanca’s team,” he said.
Nicolae Chirtoaca also said that nothing will change inside the PLDM until the elections, while the leaving of Iurie Leanca from the party is excluded. “Considerable pressure is exerted from outside. Filat’s position weakened seriously after the scandal about Banca de Economii and the Chisinau International Airport. It’s inadmissible for the party to take part in elections with a list of corrupt persons. Now a whole team of political analysts and journalists are working to improve the party’s image. It’s clear that the list of candidates is a compromise,” he stated.
Speaking about the list of the PDM, Chirtoaca said the inclusion of Marian Lupu and Vlad Plahotniuc on the first positions of the list was a mistake. “After Plahotniuc was included in the list for the 2010 elections, the PDM failed to gain 5% more of the poll. Marian Lupu also has a negative rating,” said the politician.
Nicolae Chirtoaca warned the parties that are taking part in the elections that the formation of a government based on an algorithm after the elections will be a catastrophe for Moldova. “Moldova is doomed to have coalition governments. It’s rather improbable that a party will win a majority of seats in the November 30 elections. But forming again a government based on an algorithm will be a serious mistake as this leads to the continuous oligarchization of power,” he said.
