More than 60 films made in 26 countries will be presented as part of the ninth International Documentary Film Festival “Chronograph” during May 26-30, Info-Prim Neo reports. In a news conference on May 26, the festival’s artistic director Leontina Vatamanu said the festival this year will include a new section – student documentaries made at film schools in different counties. The organizers of the festival considered such a section is needed in order to create a freer and less pretentious space for the young documentarists. Nine films made in eight countries will compete in this section. Leontina Vatamanu said a special event will take place within the festival. The workshop “The Book of Your Documentary” will be moderated by filmmaker Pavel Cuzuioc, who was born in Chisinau, but currently works in Bucharest and Vienna. The participants in the workshop will learn the stages of making a documentary – from idea to screening. Virgil Margineanu, the festival’s director, said the films will contend in four sections – the Main Section, cadRO, local TV Productions, and Student Documentaries. The films will be screened from 10am until late in the evening at the Odeon Theater. A ticket to all the documentaries costs 60 lei. “Chronograph” is the only documentary film festival in Moldova. It has been organized by OWH Studio since 2001.
