The parliamentary group of the Party of Socialists on February 24 submitted a no-confidence motion against Minister of Health Ruxanda Glavan over the policies pursued in healthcare. The Liberal-Democratic parliamentary group requested to question Minister Glavan in Parliament, but the proposal wasn’t supported, IPN reports.
In the Parliament sitting, Lib-Dem Grigore Cobzac said the minister should be questioned about the recent rises in the tariffs of medical services. According to him, it is evident that the new prices are much higher than the social insurance budget and they should know how these costs will be covered.
Communist MP Oxana Domenti noted representatives of the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Economy should also be questioned because the rises are based on a Government decision.
Socialist MP Vladimir Odnostalko said the problem of tariffs is very important given the rise in morbidity, reduction in the number of places in hospitals and closing of health facilities. The Government’s actions do not enable the people to receive treatment, but leave them to die.
Head of Parliament Andrian Candu said the motion was accepted. The Standing Bureau is to decide when this will be examined, but the examination should take place within 14 days.
In the same sitting, the Socialists also proposed questioning Prime Minister Pavel Filip about the socioeconomic situation in the country, but the proposal was short of votes.
