The information about the involvement of Moldovans in the road accident that occurred near the Georgian townlet Zhinvali hasn’t been confirmed, IPN reports.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, through the agency of the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Georgia, made approaches to the local authorities to obtain information about the nationality and identity of those involved.
“Despite the information disseminated by foreign press and in social media, the Georgian authorities confirmed that there were no citizens of the Republic of Moldova in the vehicle involved in the accident,” said the Ministry.
According to the local press, three persons died in the road accident in Zhinvali on December 29. Another five persons suffered injuries and were rushed to the hospital. The minibus was transporting tourists and these reportedly included Moldovans.
