Prosecutors will not initiate any criminal action against the sacked-then-reinstated director of Franzeluta, or against the company's security chief, for abuses alleged by some Franzeluta officials, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The Prosecutor General's Office said in a press statement that there was no legal ground for starting prosecution.
Svetlana Hamuraru, a department head at Franzeluta, complained to the police on June 22 against Franzeluta manager Eugen Baleca and security chief Stefan Grosu. According to the complainant, they obstructed her from joining the company's Board meeting, which addressed the complicated situation created around the sought dismissal of Baleca.
Earlier, on June 20, the Franzeluta Board dismissed Eugen Baleca for violations revealed by an inspection of the Anti-Corruption Center. It was reported that Baleca refused to comply, took the company's seal and absconded. Then he returned with a court order annulling the dismissal. A number of officials, including Svetlana Hamuraru, complained that Baleca used the chief of the private security firm at Franzeluta to intimidate them. On June 22, the Board challenged Baleca's reinstatement to office in the Courts of Appeal.
Franzeluta is Moldova's largest baked goods manufacturer, in which the government holds the majority stock.
