Number of people requiring medical help in hot days increasing

886 persons in Chisinau called doctors for help last week as their condition worsened because of high temperatures. One person was hospitalized for sunstroke treatment, Chisinau's chief doctor Mihai Moldovanu informed the City Hall's ordinary meeting on Monday, Info-Prim Neo reports. Moldovanu said 100 of those who needed medical help were diagnosed with high blood pressure and 16 persons had hyperthermia symptoms. At the same time, the city's chief doctor said the number of emergency calls has increased lately, to 5,069 over the past week. The increase is mainly due to viral infections in children, said Mihai Moldovanu.
