Number of persons who are dissatisfied with state of affairs in Moldova goes up, poll

A poll shows that 72% of the people are very dissatisfied with the situation in Moldova, an increase of 17% compared with a similar poll carried out last year. Also, 93% of the respondents consider that Moldova needs a new government. The results of the poll commissioned by the newspaper “Timpul” to the sociological company Public Opinion Fund were presented in a news conference at IPN.

According to the company’s chairman Andrei Luchian, 21% of those polled said they are rather dissatisfied with the state of affairs in the country, while 5% are rather satisfied. Only about 1% of those surveyed are fully satisfied with the situation in Moldova, as in the previous poll, while the rest didn’t give an answer. The number of those who are rather satisfied fell by 5%.

Some 73% of the respondents consider democracy is the best system of government. However, 78% said that if the people want, they can remove the government that does not take into account their interests.

The poll also reveals that 44% of the households in Moldova have by at least one family member working abroad. Of these, 48% have relatives working in Russia, while 44% in the EU.

The survey covered a sample of 1,792 people from 107 villages and towns of Moldova between March 11 and 20. The margin of sampling error is 2.3%.
