Twenty-five websites in Moldova will be assessed within an Internet traffic measurement project. The study is made by the Audit Bureau of Circulation and Internet (BATI). The Romanian company Gemius will deal with the technical part of the project, Info-Prim Neo reports.
BATI audit director Stanislav Popov said that for the first time in Moldova the traffic and audience results will be obtained according to standards and methodologies recognized by the whole online advertising market. “This way, the Moldovan online environment will become transparent and will gain credibility. Preconditions will appear for making investments in this area,” Stanislav Popov told a news conference.
The representative of Gemius Catalin Emilian said the collected data will enable the clients of online advertising to choose the websites by which they want to be promoted. There will be provided information about the number of visitors, their age, sex, incomes and preferences as regards the goods and services.
The initiators of the study said that until now there was only information about the number of visitors, not yet about their profile and preferences. The first data about the performance of the websites will be available in April, after the measurement system is implemented. The fist test-data will be presented at the beginning of March.
