The official correspondence of five ministries will be transformed from paper-printed into computer-operated within the project “Information System for Managing Documents and Registrations of Central Public Authorities - SIGEDIA”. Prime Minister Vlad Filat already made an order to start implementing the project, Info-Prim Neo reports.
During the six-month trial period, the State Chancellery will implement the given project at five ministries selected by the volume of examined documents. According to a communiqué from the Government, the successful implementation of this project will lead to a decrease in the administrative costs by reducing the volume of paper and office equipment used in the circulation of official documents. Moldova's State Chancellery alone buys about 36 tonnes of paper annually. Furthermore, it incurs costs for maintaining office devices, delivery and other costs.
Another advantage is the optimization and adjustment of the process by shortening the period of correspondence from a few days, in the case of paper-printed official correspondence, to several seconds within the information document management system. The changes will also ensure a higher level of security and privacy in document circulation, while the possible human errors will be minimized.
The pilot-project coordinated by the State Chancellery will be implemented at the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Justice, and the Ministry of Labor, Social Protection and Family.
