The public servants who will feel in danger will be able to ask the head of state to offer them state protection. This is stipulated in a legislative initiative put forward by the State Guard Service, Info-Prim Neo reports. Under the bill, protection will be provided for public servants and their families if it is established that they are exposed to danger or if there is information about possible attacks on their lives, health and freedom of action. According to the head of the State Guard Service Igor Bodorin, the state protection will be offered in emergencies for a period of at most 30 calendar days, by informing the head of state. If foreign officials come to Moldova without guard and their visit generate intense political resonance at state level, the director of the State Guard Service will order providing state protection for other civil servants as well, but a final decision will be taken after the President of Moldova is informed about this. The bill is to be passed by Parliament. The persons who benefit from guaranteed state protection include the President of Moldova, the Speaker, the Prime Minister, and the heads of state and government of other states during their stay in Moldova.
