The officials mentioned in the note sent by Communist lawmakers to Romanian Ambassador to Moldova Marius Lazurca said there is no room for comments on this subject.
“I do not comment on the Communists’ nonsense. We are waiting for something more serious,” Liberal MP Ion Hadirca stated for Info-Prim Neo.
The leader of the Liberal-Democratic parliamentary group Valeriu Strelet said that this approach does not deserve being commented as it is based on false information. “I think it is a desperate gesture of the Communists who are in a crisis of ideas and try to attract public opinion by different hazardous methods,” he stated.
Another two statesmen accused by the Communists of usurpation of power - Alexandru Tanase and Vlad Plahotniuc – have not answered the phone.
The Communist Party of Moldova sent a note to Romania’s Ambassador in Chisinau Marius Lazurca, asking him to tell the competent Romanian authorities that they should withdraw all the persons with high-ranking positions who have Romanian nationality.
The persons to whom the PCRM refers are First Deputy Speaker Vlad Plahotniuc, the leader of the Liberal parliamentary group Ion Hadirca, the head of the Liberal-Democratic parliamentary group Valeriu Strelet, and the chairman of the Constitutional Court Alexandru Tanase. The Communists say that these persons swore an oath of allegiance to Romania and thus they promote the national interests of Romania and contribute to the usurpation of power in Moldova.
Sources in the Romanian Embassy in Chisinau said they know nothing about the note and the Embassy has not yet formulated a position on it.
