Old age pensions will rise by 9.6%

The old age pensions will be increased by 9.6% from April 1. The participants in the Chernobyl accident cleanup will receive pensions by 7.6% higher, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a Government Decision. The rise was determined based on the average annual increase in the consumer price index for the previous year. The state social allowances, except the childcare and death benefit, will be raised by 7.6%. From April 1, the minimum pension for agricultural workers will be 625 lei, while for the other groups of recipients - 702 lei. The disability pension will be 499 lei for the first degree, 482 lei for the second degree, and 339 lei for the third degree. A sum of 475.8 million lei will be allocated from the state social insurance budget and 20.2 million lei from the state budget for the purpose.
