Moldova is a captive state and belongs to the oligarchs, Communist MP Oleg Reidman said in the talk show “Interpol” on TV 7 channel, IPN reports.

According to Reidman, there are all the conditions showing that Moldova is a captive state. “The law and the state institutions do not work for the people. Everything works to promote the economic interests of a political group. The parties of the former Alliance for European Integration must answer for this. When the Communists were in power, Vladimir Voronin was influential, while Plahotniuc didn’t dictate the political decisions in the country,” he stated.

Oleig Reidman denied that the Party of Communists (PCRM), of which he forms part, cooperates with the parties of the ruling alliance and insisted that the PCRM is in the opposition. “We voted for the Gaburici Government in order to break the political stalemate. But this Government works very badly. Moreover, the PCRM was blocked at media level and its popularity thus diminished. Everyone knows who controls most of the media outlets,” he stated.

Speaking about the stealing of money from Banca de Economii, Reidman said a mistake will be made if it is liquidated. “The same sum will be spent either Banca de Economii is kept or it is liquidated. But in the case of liquidation, the depositors will have to be paid cash in a relatively short period of time, which is practically impossible,” stated the MP.

Oleg Reidman denied having been involved in the stealing of this money and the accusations made by former minister of finance Veaceslav Negruta that he controlled the activity of Banca de Economii until 2010. “Negruta only wrote letters and kept silent. He was responsible and should have acted. Nothing was done in the financial system without his consent. In an interview in 2012, I said that the capital of Banca de Economii decreased from 800 million lei to 200 million lei in only half a year. Namely in that period the largest state-run companies transferred their accounts to Victoriabank. Negruta allowed this to happen,” said the Communist lawmaker.

Asked why he didn’t yet transmit to the state archive the report of the commission of inquiry into the situation at Banca de Economii, produced two years ago, Reidman said this thing was to be done by former Democratic MP Valeriu Guma, who was the commission’s secretary and who later remained without a seat.
