The special commission of the Ministry of Justice accepted Oleg Rotari as a candidate for the post of Moldova’s governmental agent to the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR). This has over seven years’ experience in the field, being subordinate ECHR jurist on behalf of Moldova, IPN has learned from the Ministry of Justice.
There were submitted two applications for participation in the contest. One was rejected because the applicant didn’t have the necessary experience. Oleg Rotari, who was accepted, will have to take the written test and the interview. If he passes them, the minister of justice will propose the candidate to the Prime Minister for confirmation.
The post of Moldova’s governmental agent to the ECHR was held by Marin Gurin during March 2016 and April 2017. Last October, he was assigned to work on an assistance mission in Mali by a Government decision. In the period, the relevant duties were fulfilled by Ruxanda Revencu, deputy head of the General Governmental Agent Division of the Ministry of Justice.
