About 11,300 students submitted the documents and were accepted at the first stage of admission to the tenth grade, which is over 43% of the total number of students admitted to the exams. The information was provided by Minister of Education Dan Perciun through Facebook live, IPN reports.
Every fourth secondary school graduate went to high school, and every sixth went to a vocational school or college, didn’t decide where to go or went to study abroad.
Dan Perciun noted that the imbalance in the choice of specialties is one of the problems witnessed year after year. Currently, 7,000 students have chosen humanities, while about 4,000 have chosen exact sciences.
There are 331 high schools in the country, of which 209 managed to open two high school classes, and 122 high schools have not reached this requirement for two classes and do not offer alternatives to students. This week the district divisions will be informed whether or not the Ministry allows opening one high school class.
