The Cabinet approved the open government action plan for 2019-2020. This was drafted to achieve the objectives defined in the strategy for reforming the public administration for 2016-2020, being also a commitment undertaken by the Government in cooperation with the EU and other international organizations, IPN reports.
The action plan stipulates activities aimed at improving civil society’s access to information, modernizing public services and making the public administration more responsible by developing the open government capacities of public functionaries of the central and local public administration.
Among the goals are to publish open data as swiftly as possible and stimulate their use by civil society, to ensure budgetary transparency and in public procurement, to consolidate cooperation with civil society, including by engaging the diaspora in the decision-making process, to ensure transparency at the local level and develop public services centered on the citizen.
The action plan will be implemented with the allocated funds with the support of the foreign partners.
