The thunderstorms are expected to intensify in the evening of June 28. The State Hydrometeorological Service issued an orange code advisory for atmospheric instability for a number of districts in northern and western Moldova, IPN reports.
Forecasters warn that the precipitation in northern and western districts between 8pm on June 28 and 9am on June 29 will total 50-70 l/m2. There will be storms with thunder and lightning and heavy rain accompanied by winds that will blow in gusts at a speed of 15-20 m/s.
The population is recommended to obey the instructions of the authorities, to clean the drainage channels and to build new channels to direct the pluvial water. The business entities managing ponds and lakes are urged to make sure that the levees are in an appropriate state.
