Luminița Odobescu, former head of the Romanian diplomacy, currently State Counselor for Foreign Policy and Strategic Affairs in the Chancellery of the Prime Minister of Romania, has been awarded the "Order of Honor". President Maia Sandu awarded her the honor for her achievements during her term as Romania's Foreign Minister, IPN reports.
According to a Presidency press release, the "Order of Honor" was awarded to Luminița Odobescu "in appreciation for her work in promoting the strategic partnership between Romania and Moldova and for supporting the Republic of Moldova on the European Union agenda".
At the same time, during her term of office, the Romanian Government has supported the Republic of Moldova by integrating its energy systems and supplying Romanian electricity at a capped price. "Also, thanks to her firm steps, Mrs. Odobescu has contributed to promoting the opening of accession negotiations of the Republic of Moldova to the European Union," the Presidency press release reads.
Luminița Odobescu is in Chisinau for an exchange of views with ambassadors of Chisinau's partner states on the Transnistrian energy crisis, the regional context and the best ways to jointly support pro-European forces in Moldova, according to the official's Twitter page.
