Organ Hall opens 08/09 season with 30th anniversary festival

The Organ Hall opens on Tuesday, September 20, the 2008/09 scenic season with a festival dedicated to its 30th anniversary, consisting of four concerts, including an open-air event, Info-Prim Neo reports. Jana Tudose, a spokesperson for the Organ Hall, said the new season will begin on Tuesday evening with a novel performance, featuring all the bands and soloists of the Hall. On Wednesday evening four organists of the Organ Hall – Svetlana Bodiu, Marina Zagorschi, Olga Babagean and Ana Strezeva – will give the second concert. On Thursday, music lovers will be able to enjoy “Carmina Burana” by Carl Orff. The price of the tickets for the anniversary concerts ranges from 30 to 60 lei. All performances start at 18:00. The open-air event will be held on Saturday, September 20, on an improvised stage in the square adjoining the Organ Hall, starting at 19:00. Besides Organ Hall performers, the stage will also host the National Chamber Orchestra, the Chamber Choir, and the Accordion Band Concertino. The Organ Hall in Chisinau was inaugurated on September 16, 1978.
