Over 1200 policemen will be mobilized for Friday’s Moldova-England game. Five representatives of British officers will come to Chisinau to help their Moldovan colleagues maintain order. The information was communicated by the head of the Public Order Division of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Marin Maxian, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Marin Maxian said that the 5 English officers have come to Moldova to offer information about the behavior of the English fans. This practice was also applied for last year’s match against Sweden, when the Moldovan policemen have also been consulted by their Swedish colleagues.
Maxian said that the football fans will not be forbidden from bringing sharp objects or anything that can be considered a weapon into the stadium. Also, heavily drunk persons will be forbidden to enter.
Those who will arrive at the match are forewarned not to carry any recipients for liquids. Beverages will be on sale at the stadium in plastic cups only.
According to the police’s preliminary data, roughly 180 England fans will come to Moldova, in addition to the unknown number of Britons that are already in the country.
The England team as well as their staff will be accompanied by police all along their route, and will be guarded at their lodging location.
Moldova will play England in their first 2014 World Cup qualifier on Friday, starting 9:45 p.m., at Zimbru stadium in Chisinau.
