The resignation tendered by the head of the National Financial Market Commission (CNPF) Mihai Cibotaru was accepted by the majority of lawmakers, Info-Prim Neo reports. Prime Minister Vlad Filat demanded that the head of the CNPF, the director of the Security and Information Service (SIS) and the prosecutor general be discharged because they reacted inappropriately to the raider attacks on the banking system. The SIS director Gheorghe Mihai was dismissed last week by the votes of the Liberal-Democrat and Communist lawmakers. Mihai Cibotaru handed in his resignation on October 17, arguing he does not want to be part of this political game. The discussions on the dismissal of the prosecutor general go on. Next week Valeriu Zubco is to render in Parliament a report on the work done by the Prosecutor’s Office.
