Parliament declares 2013 as Year of Spiridon Vangheli

The legislative body Thursday adopted the initiative to declare 2013 as the Year of Spiridon Vangheli. A series of activities dedicated to the children’s writer will be carried out on this occasion. Within a month, the Government is to agree a national program of activities dedicated to the writer who turned 80 in June. The press is recommended to conduct a broad campaign to cover the events related to the Year of Spiridon Vangheli. Spiridon Vangheli is also known as the father of the famous character Guguta, who contributed to the education of the young generation and the development of the national and universal literature. His books were translated into 40 languages and published in over 8 million copies.
