The legislature modified the composition of a number of delegations of Moldova to international organizations. Two posts held earlier by Head of Parliament Igor Corman were taken over by Democratic MPs, IPN reports.
The leader of the PDM Marian Lupu will replace Igor Corman as head of Moldova’s delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Eastern Partnership (EURONEST), while Stella Jantuan will become a fully-fledged member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE). Also, Oleg Tulea was designated as a substitute member of the PACE.
The MPs also passed a decision by which Liberal lawmaker Ion Hadarca was named as co-chairman of the Moldova –EU Parliamentary Cooperation Committee instead of Corina Fusu. The head of the parliamentary commission on foreign policy and European integration Ana Gutu explained that Fusu was substituted because she didn’t take part in the formation of the pro-European Government.
Corina Fusu replied that this does not mean that she is non-European. “The Liberal Party is one of the founders of the Alliance for European Integration. You have no legal and moral right to consider me non-European. I’m pro-European and will vote all the laws that will meet the European values,” she stated.
The Liberal leader Mihai Ghimpu said that declaring oneself European does not necessarily mean sharing these values and named Ana Gutu a traitor.
