The legislative body approved the activity report of the Broadcasting Coordination Council (BCC) for 2010 by a majority vote on April 8. The report was rendered in Parliament by the Council’s chairman Marian Pocaznoi. The Communist parliamentary group did not support the report and criticized harshly the work of the broadcasting regulator, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The Opposition MPs and several lawmakers of the ruling alliance expressed their dissatisfaction with how the newly appointed Marian Pocaznoi answered the questioned put by them, saying he came unprepared.
They also said that other members of the BCC should have come to the Parliament’s sitting when the report is presented, stressing this is a violation of the legislation and disrespect for the legislative body.
In the end, the lawmakers of the alliance approved the report, but demanded that the BCC submit a new development strategy within 60 days.
Marian Pocaznoi was named chairman of the Broadcasting Coordination Council instead of Gheorghe Gorincioi at the start of March.
