The MPs adopted a bill providing for the closure of the Bender Appeals Court in the first reading, IPN reports.
Minister of Justice Oleg Efrim said this court must be liquidated in order to optimize the judicial system. The workload of the Bender Appeals Court is about three times lower than of the Balti Appeals Court, for example. Moldova should have three Appeals Courts.
The judges of the Bender Appeals Court will be moved to other courts of law, at the suggestion of the Supreme Council of Magistrates.
The movable assets of the Bender Court will be transferred to the Chisinau Appeals Court, while the building will be used by the Causeni Court.
