Parliament will select, with the assistance of civil society, two or three laws with a major impact so as to assess them profoundly within a new parliamentary control methodology called ex-post control, Speaker of Parliament Andrian Candu announced on February 2, IPN reports.
Making statements for the press after a meeting with the heads of parliamentary commissions - the event that precedes the start of the spring-summer session next week, Andrian Candu said that important and topical laws that are at least three years old will be subject to ex-post control. The assessment will cover a series of aspects, including the social and economic ones. “As regards the legislative creation, things stand well, but at the level of parliamentary control and parliamentary hearings, things are yet to be improved,” explained the official.
Andrian Candu said that the traditional common meeting of the Government and Parliament will be held on February 6. This will discuss the priorities for 2018. The Parliament’s Standing Bureau will convene on February 7. The legislature will hold its first sitting also next week.
Andrian Candu said the reform of Parliament will continue during the current session and will include the personnel reform that will be aimed at saving funds.
