The parliamentary factions consisting of at least five independent or unaffiliated MPs will have the same rights as a parliamentary group. A bill to amend and supplement the Parliament’s regulations was passed by MPs on June 2, IPN reports.
The bill was drafted by the members of the European People’s faction.
The examination of the bill aroused debates in Parliament. The leader of the Liberal-Democratic group Tudor Deliu said the bill is designed to legitimize political cruising and corruption. In protest at the bill, the MPs of the Liberal Democratic Party, Liberal Party and the Communist Party left the assembly hall.
