MPs of the opposition parties in the April 26 sitting of Parliament proposed questioning the administration of the Prosecutor General’s Office, the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure and the National Agency for Energy Regulation and Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Cristina Lesnic. None of the proposals garnered yet the necessary number of votes, IPN reports.

The Liberal-Democratic group asked to question Cristina Lesnic about the signing of the protocol decision concerning the mechanism for admitting motor vehicles with Transnistrian license plates to international road traffic. The group’s leader Tudor Deliu said this decision implies a number of risks, including financial ones, noting such decisions create preconditions for financing the secessionist regime, similar to those in the energy sector.

Liberal MP Roman Botan said the decision concerning the issuing of neutral license plates to Transnistrian vehicles was taken in non-transparent conditions and there are a number of questions here. The head of the European People’s Parliamentary Group Eugen Carpov said there are different opinions about the signed documents and particular clarifications are needed in this regard.

Socialist MP Vlad Batrancea said the group he represents is against questioning Cristina Lesnic as those that proposed nothing for bringing the two banks closer now try to politicize the subject. Speaker Andrian Candu suggested that the Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration should be questioned within the specialized parliamentary platform as some aspects of this issue are confidential and cannot be discussed in Parliament.

At the insistence of Tudor Deliu, the proposal to question Cristina Lesnic was put to the vote, but wasn’t supported. The Lib-Dems also proposed examining the progress report of the Prosecutor General’s Office, but this proposal was also rejected. The head of the legal commission for appointments and immunities Raisa Apolschii said the report will be examined next week in a common meeting with the commission on national security, defense and public order.

The Socialist MPs requested to question the managers of the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure and of the National Agency for Energy Regulation concerning the situation in the energy sector. But this proposal didn’t obtain the necessary number of votes either.
