A group of municipal councilors of the Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS) lodged a complaint with the Prosecutor General’s Office (PGO) about the illegal construction of an apartment building in the historic center of the capital city. Anetta Dabija, municipal councilor, said that the block on Ismail Street is built without authorization and without an urban planning certificate or any other permissive document. The councilor demanded that those who participate in these illegalities should be held accountable. In a reaction to the complaint, the mayor of Chisinau Ion Ceban said that these are PR activities of PAS councilors and their allies that have become more and more active lately, being already in a new electoral campaign, IPN reports.
In a press briefing held in front of the PGO, Anetta Dabija said that an increasing number of buildings have been erected without the appropriate permits on municipal land and this trend has negative effects on people’s safety and on the way the city develops. “At the end of last year, we noticed that they want to erect an apartment building in the historic center, on Ismail Street, without permissive documents, without a building permit or without an urban planning certificate. As a municipal councilor, I checked if the works are done based on permissive documents and I also notified the National Inspectorate of Technical Supervision, which confirmed that the construction works take place without the construction permit and without the urban planning certificate,” said the councilor, specifying that the works from the very beginning were done with violations.
After the PAS councilor leveled accusations, the general mayor came with a comment, saying that the Party of Action and Solidarity already started to election campaign. “In the absence of results in the country, every day they invent new topics to deviate from the illegalities they commit daily,” said the mayor. Ion Ceban also said that the Chisinau City Hall continues to work for the citizens, develops and creates new opportunities, has no salary arrears, does not liquidate institutions and does not degrade the people.
