In the ordinary spring session 2024, Parliament had 20 sittings, one of which was held during two days. The sittings had a total duration of over 160 hours. During this period, the MPs of the Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS) submitted 110 bills, while the MPs of the Bloc of Communists and Socialists (BCS)– 35. The situation is different in the case of speeches. BCS MPs had 74 speeches, while PAS MPs – 58, IPN reports.
The Parliament’s Communication and Public Relations Department said that, in addition to the 110 draft laws, the PAS group proposed 145 amendments. Most of the bills were presented by MPs Veronica Rosca (35), Igor Chiriac (25) and Roman Rosca (22). Also, the PAS MPs stated their opinions on legislative initiatives in 58 speeches from the Parliament’s rostrum and presented two declarations.
In the same period, the BCS group presented 35 draft normative documents and submitted 22 amendments. Most of the bills were presented by MPs Petru Burduja (14), Tatiana Cunetski (14) and Vladimir Odnostalco (11). The BCS MPs had 74 speeches and two declarations.
The unaffiliated and independent MPs presented four draft laws, 11 amendments and had 19 speeches and three declarations.
The Cabinet submitted 85 draft laws to the Parliament, President Maia Sandu – 21 draft laws, and the People’s Assembly of Gagauzia – two draft laws. In total, 274 draft normative documents were submitted to Parliament for examination in the spring session and 207 were passed.
In the ordinary spring session, 230 normative documents were adopted.
