The passengers of the Rome – Chisinau route of July 26 will be compensated by Air Moldova for the 1.5 hour delay at the Fiumicino airport caused by an inspection of the plane, IPN reports.
In a press release, Air Moldova says its aircraft Airbus A320 was examined at the Rome Fiumicino Airport by inspectors of the Safety Assessment of Foreign Aircraft of Italy. All the airlines and their planes are subject to such an inspection that is unplanned and the authorities of each state decide when and how the plane is to be examined, often on an ad hoc basis.
According to the operator, the inspectors identified no irregularities or deviations from the Airbus technical specifications. The plan met all the conditions and was allowed to fly to Chisinau.
In the period, the passengers had to wait on board for about 1.5 hours for the inspection to be completed. “We count on the understanding of passengers and apologize for the deviation from the departure/landing schedule. In recognition for their patience, Air Moldova will recompense the passengers of the July 26 Rome-Chisinau flight,” says the press release.
According to the press, dozens of Moldovans waited for almost two hours in a plane without air conditioning and water at the Fiumicino airport before taking off from Rome to Chisinau.
